“ When I work on a tax return I don’t see a form, I see a person and their family. The relationships I develop with clients are what make my work meaningful. Like the other members on our team, I want to provide people with peace of mind. I want to make taxation something that our clients don’t have to worry about because we are taking care of it for them.”
As the Director of Taxation Services, Martha Skeggs plays a critical role in the delivery of our integrated services. The taxation group that she leads is involved in all of our services from financial planning to succession planning. In addition to managing and developing her team of specialists, Martha dedicates her time to high level corporate and personal tax planning and international taxation.
With the growth of global considerations in many business decisions, Martha’s expertise in international compensation adds a valuable dimension to McLarty & Co’s taxation services. Martha also specializes in US personal taxation, US estates and other non-resident issues.
Prior to joining McLarty & Co, Martha was an associate partner at an international public accounting firm for over ten years. There she led a group that concentrated on global tax issues such as those related to employees relocating from one country to another.
Martha has been demonstrating her commitment to developing the tax expertise of other accountants and accounting students since 2006 by teaching personal and corporate taxation at Carleton University to third and fourth year commerce students.
